Segreto di Iside ~ Isis' Secret

Let me show you the photos of the commission, at last!
Few weeks ago it went to its new home and I have to admit that I miss it!🙄

This set of jewellery is inspired to Isis, Osiris' wife and Horus' mother. She was the Great Mother in the Egyptian pantheon; originally she was associated to the earth, her body was Egypt itself and the Nile - and its delta - was identified with her yoni, so that its floods were considered to be the mestruation of the goddess. In its fertile water, along with papyrus, her sacred flowers grew, those flowers that her priestesses and priests used for inducing their mystical experiences: blue water lily.

Thanks to these flowers, people that devoted their lives to her worship freed their spirits, lifted through the different stages of initiations. The goddess promised them the eternal life, which was symbolised with the ankh, the key to rebirth, and with the scarab, which, according to myths, travelled through the lower world each night emerging only at dawn.
The passing of centuries made Isis the magic goddess, the enchantress and the keeper of the arcane knowledge, but not just that: she became the Queen of heaven, merging her functions with those of the goddess Nut, which was the representation of the Milky Way, the starry sky.
So the goddess saw her dominions to expand from earthy matters to those of sky and soul; that was what I chose to represent through my jewels, so that they could be considered a call to empower oneself and manifest one's own will, dedicated not just to the woman who asked for the commission, but for every woman. And making them was an empowering experience for me as well.

I chose to use also her sacred stones, like turquoise and corals, that were added to the chain of the necklace, but they were also my source of inspiration - along with the plants - for the variety of colours I chose for the set.

This is the set before baking: the most terrifying moment during the making of!
