Babbo Natale Segreto - Secret Santa Claus

This year I joined an event, Secret Santa, in which each participant had to send his/her own creation as a gift to another member; it was organized by the Etsy Italia Team in order to create the feeling of community as well as give each member the opportunity to improve the skills as seller, but also in shipping and packaging too. :)
I have to admit that I enjoyed the experience, I found it interesting, stimulating and revealing, do you wanna know why?
Because I learned a lot about me as a creator: creating is something I can’t get rid of; I do it in the best way I can and with all my love because I really want people to like what I make; when I send one of my creations to its new family&home, I get anxious about its way home and really fear any damage to it. All these thoughts lead me to some decisions and transformations, obviously.
But now let me show you what I made for the Secret Santa exchange:

Tadaa

I made the pendant with polymer clays, using as a stamp an ivy leaf (the one you see in the photos), and also an ‘heart’ of chrysoprase (if it wasn’t clear enough, it’s one of my favourite gemstones! :P ). I used a pearly powder in order to reveal the marvelous veins of the leaf when it will be lighted.
The ivy is a climbing plant, which using its branches lives and grows tied to every surface, and I drew inspiration from this aspect of its nature when I made the swirls which extend themselves over the polymer leaf as they are virtually hugging it. Through the swirls I supposed to give the necklace a more ethnic style, because I noticed it would be appreciated, but it turned out in a fairy style, like those jewels and accessories worn by actors in fantasy movies. I have to admit that I really enjoyed the unexpected result! :)
I made the other part of the necklace with a golden satin drawstring and a green organza ribbon, which I tied to a little chain - in order to regulate the length - and a little bell, so that people would notice who is wearing the necklace ;)

XD

As you can see, I placed my Christmas&New Year greetings inside the box, obviously I wrote everything... With the right hand, if you were asking! XD

I smooth the pendant contour in order to resemble the ivy leaf, and I signed at the back of the pendant writing the name of my creations, Naturæ Cor, and my initials, F.P. :)

Then I put the necklace in a golden organza sachet and, after wrapping it with bubble wrap, I put it in a box and than in its packet...

... so that I could send it the next day and see it arrive just after two days in the caring hands of the recipient, Maria Grazia Schinelli, who is the owner of the Etsy shop sAveddaeMari, which is worth a visit. Between the ribbons I put the leaf I used as a mould in order to prove that this necklace would always be one of a kind, because it isn't in Mother Nature's habits to create two similar leaves! :)

If you saw her shop, you could understand why I was so anxious; nevertheless, she enjoyed her present, but I suppose it's worth reading her own words:
I thank my Super Santa Flavia owner of Naturae Cor www.etsy.com/it/shop/NaturaeCor I received a wonderful necklace with the shape of an ivy leaf I suppose made in fimo, but I'm not sure (I'm not expert on it), practically perfect and particular, the packet was very accurate, I found beautiful the idea of the handwritten card, practically everything was perfect
...let me tell you a little secret, in a private convo she told me she was often wearing it, so you could imagine how much happy and honoured I am! :) And how pleased I am to know that the necklace is in so caring hands! :)
However I received also a lesson with her comment, do you want to know what lesson? She showed me what I forgot to tell about my creation's history, what I used to make it, what its name was, what it was. I learned all those things that I have to improve.

This is the gift I received from Caterina, owner of CatInBag, I can't wait to place it between the plants on the terrace, but I have to wait until their bloom in spring...

I really hope that this gift would make the Fairies take better care of my plants, hopefully taking away unwanted insects, it would be really nice! :D

E voi che ne pensate? Cosa dovrei migliorare secondo voi? Fatemi assolutamente sapere! ;*

I suppose you're waiting to know what I wrote her and learned from her, am I wrong? You should read yourself the comment I wrote in the Team thread:
Moreover I want to thank my Santa, Caterina of CatInBag, who gave me a wonderful fairies' door I could place between the plants in the garden or in the terrace. I loved also the way she wrapped everything, with a classy and accurate style, it was an inspiring example of what I need to improve :)

Well, that's all, folks! :D
And what do you think about? What do you think I need to improve? Let me know, please! ;*
